I grew up just outside of Buffalo, New York (yes, people really live there) during the time of peace, love, tranquility, and flower power. As a child of the 60’s, I embraced the freedom and creativity of that now notable moment in time. From making my own “hippie” clothes to making handmade beads from magazine pages, I spent long winter days, and I really mean long winter days, nourishing my spirit through the process of creating.
In high school, I took a crafts course where I was introduced to a variety of traditional crafts that would result in my life-long love of things made by hand. I was introduced to ceramics and pottery, silversmithing, enameling, block printing, batik, and much more. I further refined my design skills by studying interior design at Villa Maria College in Buffalo, New York in the early 70’s. Since that time, I have devoted myself to continually experimenting with all types of materials to make things I love.
I consider myself a mixed media artisan. The basis of most of my work is polymer clay.
Polymer clay has endless possibilities making it a continually fascinating material. In addition to the clay I use beads, crystals, fiber, found objects, and just about anything I can get my hands on to create one-of-a-kind wall hangings, sculpture, and jewelry.
On these pages, you will find my "heart's work".......the work I do to renew my soul and wash away the dust of everyday life. I hope you will visit often.
